While the political parties are still debating over the fuel price, their quality remains problematic.
The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, visited the reconstructed building of the Technical Central Inspectorate, where he promised to help improving the quality of inspection in all gas stations.
With a 55 million investment, the lab has modern equipment for testing fuel and its subproducts that are sold in our market, and tests all imported fuels.
“By the end of this year, after a series of other steps, which are planned by the Ministry of Energy for the online inspection of all gas stations, and for avoiding tax evasion and quality manipulation, we will be able to tell the Albanian people that their car is not endangered anymore by the destruction of all these years and by the lack of quality. We have more tax money coming in, which means that this industry is getting back on track, after a decade of prevailing corruption”, Rama declared.
Ejana Xhixho, Director of the Technical Central Inspectorate, said that this lab has 58 methods for making the certified analyze, and that during 2014, 400 out of 6200 samples had bad quality.
