Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future After many years of absence, the “Mother Teresa” Hospital Center in
Tirana had 18 new elevators, six of which funded by the Health Ministry
during 2011, at around 25 million ALL.
The first inauguration of this investment was made by the Health Minister, Petrit Vasili, at the Pediatric Hospital, where the elevators have been absent since its construction in 1970. The Minister promised that all hospitals will have elevators installed, in order to facilitate the movement for the patients and the staff.
The new elevator system is currently installed at the Pediatric Hospital, at the Hospital of Internal Diseases, the Neurology and the General Surgery Hospital.
The calculations show that these elevators can handle a flux of 300 people per hour, for each of them, with an intensive work of 18 hours.
