New Coastguard vessels start operating

The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, the Interior Minister, Bujar
Nishani, and the head of the EU delegation in Tirana, Ettore Sequi,
participated in the inauguration of seven small vessels for the Radhima
Coastguard.
The three high rank officials visited the territorial mobile unit for guarding the maritime border, for the project “Purchase of vessels for guarding the blue borders”, which was financed by the EU with a cost of 3 million EUR.
Prime Minister Berisha declared that Albania now is far from the tragedies that had turned into nightmares some years ago. “The Otranto Channel was a symbol of the drama, but today it is different. No one has died. The traffic of narcotic substances has reduced”, the Prime Minister declared from Vlore.
