The new Urban Plan for Tirana will allow new constructions at the
Administrative Unite no.8, an area with low houses where no
constructions were allowed so far, since it was considered a historic
area.
“It cannot be considered a historic area anymore, since the ‘House of the Part’ is not there anymore. We will preserve some historic elements, and the rest is just old houses. We will allow new buildings there”, said Jon Baboci, Urban Director.
The Municipality plans to also widen roads and improve infrastructure in some areas of Tirana, from Rruga Fortuzi, Rruga e Kavajes, Rruga e Durresit and Rruga e Dibres.
The plan foresees new high-rise buildings, but not higher than the existing ones.
The Municipality has held 24 public hearing sessions and 100 meetings with groups of interests, such as urban planners and architects.
