Prime Minister Edi Rama and democrat opposition leader Lulzim Basha this Monday presented in parliament two different views of the financial situation in Albania.
Rama presented to the deputies the draft budget for year 2022, which he considered as an intermediate budget for overcoming the challenges that the country is leaving behind.
PM Rama stated that the budget does not increase taxes for any category, while on the other hand helps the needy.
“We reduce the tax on the salaries less than 40 thousand lek, we halve the tax on the salaries of 40-500 thousand lek, we increase the salary for teachers, and for employees who serve abroad. We allocate salaries for the oil workers of Fier, we finance the indexation of pensions with 26 million dollars.”
PM Rama added: “We are financing the connections for the reimbursement of medicines with 111 million dollars. Also, for the first time, we start supporting the national programs of arts and crafts, technology, sports, with a special funding “.
While the chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha presented another picture of the budget, emphasizing that not only is there no increase in salaries, but Albanians are getting poorer every day and in eight years of government by the left.
Basha said that citizens can not even buy basic products and are adding to the store debt lists. He accused the Rama government of doing nothing for them.
“Prices are running and overtaking your poor indexation of salaries and pensions.
“Meanwhile, to this great wave of people plunged into poverty in the last two years, are added those who have not sought salvation from misery by leaving the country.
“In the long ranks of people in economic difficulties are those who daily list the names in the endless lists of debts in the food stores of Albania, they remain the big abandoned, because nothing is provided for them”, said Basha among other things.
