New application procedures for biometric passport

Many citizens have been returned, because the Interior Ministry has changed the application procedures. The citizens must first appear at the Police Department, together with two photographs, where they will fill a form with their data.

After Police will verify these data, then the citizens will go to the office of the Aleat Company.

Discordance between the Police and application offices have caused the citizens to not be able to receive even the application form.

“The citizens cannot apply for biometric passports today. They have returned, because we sent them to the Police, after a new order. But even at the Police station, the citizens were unable to make the application, because the Police has received a repealing order”, declared Jeta Seitaj, head of Municipal Unit no.5.

This order of the Interior Ministry has not reached in all Municipal Units, and some of them are still working with the old procedure. Sources from the Interior Ministry say that the order wull go to all Municipal Units.
