Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Albanian former President and leader of the New Democratic Spirit,
accused the government of leading a corrupted and cleptocratic system
that doesn’t understand, doesn’t accept and doesn’t want functional
democracy.
The former president made a description of all the institution links and the institutions under the grip of state leaders who he called overlords.
“We have political parties that only accuse and denigrate the others, refusing to sit and dialogue for the integration reforms; citizens who suffer for food and overlords saying that we have a similar economy to Germany. We have towns and communes living without electricity when the political leaders say that we are a regional energy power, and we have sick patients who die because of the lack of medicine, while the politicians get cured in private hospitals”, Topi declared.
Bamir Topi added that the NDS mission aims to end this type of governing. While he accused the government of not realizing its duties, Topi gave no clear signal about any possible coalition in the elections 2013.
“The citizens are tired of confrontational politics and they feel disappointed from the old political parties. They want new solutions, more hope and more trust for a more democratic and representative society and state”, Topi declared.
In the new staff of the NDS, Gazmend Oketa will be the General Secretary, while the former Democratic Party MP, Alexander Biberaj, will be the vice-leader.
