Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The politically persecuted people started a new protest today. The head
of the Politically Persecuted People, Skender Tufa, declared that after
12 days of hunger strike and after the government’s indifference,
besides the economic requests they are also demanding the government to
resign.
“The citizens’ voice is constantly heard on the street, because at the state offices it has been ignored and corruption is made with it. This government must leave as soon as possible. Our request so far have been economical, but after this, our request is to remove this corrupted government”, Tufa declared.
The New Democratic Spirit MP, Gazmend Oketa, declared that he supports the hunger strikers and the government must find a solution, rather cutting inauguration ribbons.
“It is completely unexplainable and unjustifiable, even from the moral aspect that such a problem is passed in silent and without any political debate. The government’s attention is on cutting inauguration ribbons and say nothing about this, even for humanism”, Oketa declared.
The Red and Black Alliance leader declared that their compensation will come by seizing all the money stolen by Berisha and his ministers.
“We promise to realize 100% compensation after eight months, and we will find the money by confiscating the dirty assets of Sali Berisha and all of his ministers. All their bank accounts, villas, villages, mines, businesses, malls… they will all be seized and you will be compensated at 100%”, declared the RBA leader, Kreshnik Spahiu.
The hunger strike of the former politically persecuted people has entered its 13th day, while their health situation is deteriorating.
