A group of MPs from the parliamentary opposition have called for an urgent interpellation of Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding the demolition of the National Theater.
Among was Rudina Hajdari, who in her speech stated: “I asked for the interpellation with Rama. I started reading international media headlines about the Theater but Rama does not listen to opposing voices. You have been prime minister for 7 years and a whole world is looking at your barbaric face.
“You had an obsession with this Theater, with its land, because if it were somewhere else, you wouldn’t have this obsession.
“Because you want it for towers, I remember when you first came to this Parliament with your proposal for this. You, Mr. Prime Minister, continue to abuse power. What amazes me is how far you’re going to get that piece of land.
“How are you going to build it now, when you say you have no money, the worst of the destruction has been its time at 4 o’clock in the morning. There were people there, and you destroyed it, thus making an assassination attempt. Can you explain to us how you did this barbaric acts? Mr. Prime Minister, you will come here and explain to me what are you doing with this country.
“The towers in Tirana are a fact, the concrete is a fact, the leveling of Tirana is a fact, but what you have done? You have turned into a Nikola Gruevski. Today you are the same person, and you will suffer the same fate,” Hajdari said.
