The National Council of Territory approved the government’s initiative
for planning a national territory plan that will cancel every
construction permit in Tirana’s center, and to return the law that
protects the ensemble of the capital.
The government says that through this way they will give an end to formality and a new era for the territory will start.
“With this initiative we will give an end to informality and will start an integrated general plan of the Tirana-Durres economic area, which is affected by the Urban Chaos”, declared Minister Eglantina Gjermeni in a joint press release with the Environment Minister, Lefter Koka, and the Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro.
“Another important element was the measure for the rehabilitation of national parks and areas, since 90% of the constructions in there are informal”, Koka declared.
“We decided to review the list of special importance objects. We will put new objects under cultural heritage”, Kumbaro declared.
