53.1 tons of meat imported from Brazil was blocked at the Durres port by the National Food Authority.
The meat was being transported in four containers arriving from Brazil for Albania’s internal market.
The NFA said that the meat had been infected with salmonella, which is very dangerous for consumers. The entire load will be returned to its country of origin.
Top Channel has learned that the salmonella meat was ordered by a company that operates in Tirana.
The Ministry of Agriculture didn’t confirm its name. According to the NFA, four similar loads have been blocked since January 2018.
