The Former Prime Minister and former Socialist Leader, Fatos Nano, who
declared on Top Channel’s program Top Story, his ambition to run for
President, met this Monday with the Albanian Prime Minister, Sali
Berisha.
The meeting of the historical Socialist and Democratic leaders, once sworn enemies, was held in the Millenium Cinema premises, during an activity.
The Berisha-Nano meeting is part of Nano’s agenda of meetings for his candidacy.
Nano held the first meeting of his campaign with the Socialist leader, Ilir Meta, who valued Nano’s role in the integration process.
This Sunday afternoon the former Prime Minsiter met the US Ambassador to Tirana, Alexander Arvizu, who although emphasized that the Albanian President is a completely Albanian matter, did not hesitate to praise Nano’s role.
Arvizu was asked by journalists about Nano’s candidacy, and he underlined that Nano has many qualifications that deserve to be taken in consideration, but, according to him, there are also other people that deserve this.
“Nano should be taken in consideration, because he has many qualifications, but there are also other people who deserve this consideration”, the US ambassador declared.
Later this week Nano has planned a meeting with the current Socialist leader, Edi Rama.
