Nano denies threatening SMS

The ancient political conflict between Nikolle Lesi, former chief editor
of Koha Jone, now Deputy Minister of Culture and the former Prime
Minister, Fatos Nano, has returned again.

Lesi sued Nano of being threatened for his life through phone messages, which Lesi considered as “offending and threatening, to a point that the most dangerous vagabond in Albania would be unable to think”.

Lesi considers these threats as dangerous for him and his family. He recalled the words used by the incumbent Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, who has considered Nano as the head of the organized crime and corruption in Albania.

“If justice or the Interior Ministry will not take the necessary measures, I will be obliged to defend myself, but this is not a good sign for the citizens who respect the rule of law”, Lesi declared.

According to Lesi, Fatos Nano has sent him a message where he say “I apologize, because someone has used my phone to offend and threaten you”.

Top Channel contacted with Fatos Nano and asked him about this issue. His answer was:
“I haven’t contacted with Nikolle Lesi for at least 4 years.

While Nikolle Lesi said for Top Channel that this case is up to the justice, but if the Democratic Party will vote Nano for President, he would leave the governing coalition.

The clash between Lesi and Nano culminated in 2004, when Nano, then Prime Minister, sued the Demochristian MP for some articles on “Koha Jone”.
