The Minister of Justice, Nasip Naco, is the first government voice
saying “no” to the proposition for bringing Syria’s chemical weapons to
Albania.
When asked by journalists, Naco declared that he wouldn’t dare to take a decision against his children and against the interest of the Albanian people.
“I have no more information than the public about this issue. It has been discussed about disarming Assad’s government from the chemical weapons, and certainly we are a NATO member and we have our obligations. We were all happy when we joined NATO and today we are attentive to everything that is taking place. Before being an Parliament Member and Minister, I am a citizen of this country. I don’t have double citizenship, I have no intention of leaving Albania, my children will grow here and I will not dare do something to harm them or whoever has elected me. I said that we are a NATO member and we have our rights and obligations, but in any case, I will never dare voting a project that goes against the interest of our citizens”, Naco declared.
