There are suspicions for a possible murder of Florenc Beqiraj, a 23-year-old from Shkodra, who is being kept in life by machines inside the Marseille hospital, where authorities say he is technically dead and can only live through the machine.
Beqiraj had been living in France for the past two years, trying to get asylum. He was arrested for the lack of documents, but his life ended in prison.
His body was found with marks of violence, the marks of a wire at his throat. There are suspicions that he may have been killed by dangerous people in prison, but also that he may have committed suicide.
His sister, who has been living in Montenegro for the past years, said that her brother had told her on the phone that he was in prison with very dangerous people. She says that no one has given her clarification about what happened.
The Foreign Ministry said that there is no official version about the death and that the Albanian embassy in Paris is contacting the French counterparts for the case in question.
