The Alliance of Albanian Women Parliament Members visited Vojsava Arapi
at her home, Durres, and declared that they will undertake legal
measures for harsher punishments against domestic violence, and to avoid
alternative punishments for this category of offenders.
“She is a mother, a lady dedicated to her family, a person that has never stopped working for her family, a heroic symbol”, declared the Parliament Member and Chairwoman of the Alliance of Women Parliament Members, Mesila Doda.
The Parliament Members supported Vojsava and her 12-year old son, by also promising for concrete help.
“We need to find all the social solutions for this strong woman that was involved in a traumatized situation. We need to give the first initiative, because she is brave enough to live even alone”, declared Mimoza Hafizi, Socialist Party Parliament Member.
Many other women are facing the situation of Vojsava, and the Durres Parliament Member, Dr.Klodiana Spahia, appealed all women to report any domestic violence.
While the Parliament Members were visiting the woman and her son, relatives of her husband arrived from Kurbnesh to ask her to withdraw the report and reunite the family.
