The vice chairman of the Parliamentary Security Commission, Flamur Noka,
sent a letter to Prime Minister Edi Rama in which he expresses the
opposition’s concern about the increased spaces of areas planted with
cannabis.
Noka demands in the letter an air monitoring of the entire territory and make the data public, but he says the Prime Minister and the Interior Ministry have given no answer. This, for Noka, has only one explanation:
“There is no answer because drug traffic is a government business. Cannabis has been planted all over the country and its roots are at the offices of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior. This business is led by Rama and Tahiri. All these facts and the planted area proves this”, Noka said.
The Democratic Party MP says that the opposition has information that the drug planting has been increased five fold, and even new fields have been opened.
“This is why Albania was listed as the first biggest drug producer in the EU and the US State Department”, Noka said.
According to him, the drug is planted under the nose of the police. He even mentioned some districts: “The best in this job are the leaders of Durres, Vlora and Gjirokaster. Edi Rama appears a few plants on the screen to deceive Albanians, but gangs give government leaders 30% of the profits”, he added.
The opposition leader accused the police yesterday of allowing millions of organic manure to Selenica, where, he says, there is cannabis being planted.
Basha mentioned names of some police officers, saying they have ties with the crime.
The Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, gave this answer:
“I invite the Democratic Party leader to become a serious politician and take this accusation to the Prosecution. We are completely available, otherwise, these are just words for filling up news reports and I have no time for that”, Tahiri said.
