The US State Department didn’t respond to Top Sotry’s inquiry whether there was an investigation of the agreement signed in March 2017 between Muzin Capitol Partners and Binniata Trade, which, according to official documents, has funded the lobbying on behalf of the Democratic Party.
The journalists of Mother Jones have no information about any official investigation, but they would want the US government to give a final answer about their story.
“The story is that there is an Albanian party that is trying to win influence in the USA by being paid by a Russian party. For me, this is important news in Albania. It is important news for us, in the USA. It also showed me that there is a world with dirty money. We have dozens of thousands of offshore shell companies that are washing money for business and criminal reasons. They also make money laundering for political reasons”, said David Corn, Chief Editor of Mother Jones.
“If there is an investigation, the Department and the FBI keep it silent. If the Department of Justice has suspicions that Nick Muzin has broken the laws with the DPA and Binniata, I think they should investigate. But I have no information whether this is happening or not”, said HGannah Levintova, journalist for Mother Jones.
