Moscow expels the diplomat of the Albanian embassy as measure of reciprocity

Russia has responded 2 weeks after Tirana’s decision to expel one of its diplomats from the embassy.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry has decided to expel Albanian diplomat Jonida Drogu from Moscow. According to Russian media, Drogu worked at the Albanian embassy in Russia.

“On February 8, the Ambassador of Albania Arben Gazioni was invited to the Russian Foreign Ministry, where he was given a note from the ministry announcing the first secretary of the Albanian embassy in Moscow, Jonida Drogu person ‘non grata’.

The specified employee was ordered to leave the territory of the Russian Federation within 72 hours. This step was taken by the Russian side in response to Albania’s decision to expel the first secretary of the Russian embassy in Tirana,” the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
