The number of Albanians that benefit social welfare reached 102.000 in
the second trimester of this year, from 97.000 that they were in the
same period of 2010, declared the Institute of Statistics.
The number of poor families is increased with 5%. Albania has 830.000 families, and 12% of them receive social welfare.
The government gives to these families a monthly financial help that varies from 2000 to 4000 ALL per family.
The number of families in need decreased to 94.000 in 2008, when was recorded the lowest point, but that then increased due to the economic crisis.
The state budget has regularly experienced expense excess in the last three years.
This has mostly happened due to the governments denial of the economic reality in the country, and for programming the expenses in accordance with this reality.
