The number of tourists in Tirana has increased, no only from Eastern
European countries. They visit historic objects and the Skenderbej
square. In the meanwhile, tourist operators say there is a need for more
capacity and for improving the service.
“I am from Denmark and this is my first time in Albania. I like the square and how it is reconstructed. We are going to see the new bazaar. I can’t wait to visit the southern beaches and northern mountains”, a tourist says.
“People here are very friendly”, says another.
This is a very usual view for Tirana. Groups of tourists visit the historic objects of the city and then continue in other towns.
Tourist agencies say that polish people make the highest number of tourists who are actually visiting Albania.
“We have 10 flights a week from Poland, Slovakia, Czechia, while the season has started on May 23rd”, asid Rrahman Kasa from the Albanian Tourist Union.
According to the Union, almost every accommodation structure is booked. They say that Albania needs to improve the accommodating structure of hotels. They also ask the government to pay more attention to road infrastructure in tourist areas.
