Montenegro is the next Western Balkan country that is joining the MiniSchengen.
In today’s meeting, the Western Balkan leaders discussed the possibility to have Podgorica the next country where the meeting will be held, after Nish and Ochrid.
Milo Djukanovic, the President of Montenegro, declared that this initiative has nothing to do with any Balkan Union that would replace the EU accession.
“I don’t think that the participation of all members makes any replacement of the EU. If that was the case, we would say “no”. We prefer the EU and we are not ready to change our strategic objective”, Djukanovic said.
