NATO has signed Montenegro’s accession to the alliance. The agreement
will enter in effect after the ratification by all members of the
alliance. Albania was the first country to sign in favor.
The Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, said that the process is very important for the regional security, but also for the enlargement of the alliance in the future, with Kosovo.
The first day of the ministerial meeting of the NATO members culminated with the signing of the protocol for Montenegro.
In a joint conference with the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milo Gjikanovic, the General Secretary of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, said that this protocol will be ratified soon by 28 member countries. Very soon, the flag of Montenegro will be seen in the NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
