Montenegro allows travel with ID cards

28/03/2012 00:00

24 hours after Top Channel published the fact that the Montenegrin side
of the border was not respecting the agreement for crossing the border
without passports, only with ID cards, the neighbor country reacted and
now citizens of both states can cross the border only with ID cards.

A few hours after the news was reported on Top Channel, the Montenegrin Interior Ministry released the order to the custom points.

Top Channel’s reporter tried to cross the border with his ID card one day ago, but he was rejected by the Montenegrin side, saying that they had received no order.

The cameras of Top Channel filmed the rejection that was made to an old Muriqan lady, who was not allowed by the Montenegrin police to cross the border.

Albania and Montenegro signes an agreement on 14 December 2011, between the respective Foreign Ministers, Edmond Haxhinasto and Milan Roćen, for easing the travel procedures between the countries.
