In a meeting held today at the EU Foreign Ministers Council, which was attended by the Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Federica Mogherini, said that opening the accession negotiations for Albania and Macedonia was the right decision for both sides.
The Foreign Ministers of Germany, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Malta, Cyprus and other EU member countries were present in this meeting.
The Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs thanked the member countries for the constant support in Albania’s European path and said that this meeting is one more chance to discuss the progress made so far.
Minister Bushati underlined Albania’s reforms for building the rule of law and fulfilling the five priorities set by the EU.
The Foreign Ministers discussed Albania’s positive role in the region and the positive results reached with the five priorities. They also emphasized the progress report of the European Commission, which identifies the state-consolidating reforms.
