The surgery intervention at the heart of the 14 months old Alket, the
Albanian baby boy that was operated this Tuesday in Torrette Hospital,
Ancona, was a success.
The doctors had given him only two months of life, due to some born malformation in the heart. Now he is well and stable. The case of this child touched the public opinion, after the campaign for collecting funds from the Le Patronesse Association, which asked help for finding 20.000 EUR that were needed for the operation. The 20.000 EUR were collected for three weeks. The chairwoman of the association, Milena Fiore, declared that they have collected small amounts of money from throughout the country, many of whom had Albanian names”, she said after thanking everyone.
The blond sweet smiling Alket comes from the Tirana orphanage, where he has lived for his 14 months of life. He was the son of a raped teen that was unable to keep him, but a miracle changed his dark fate.
