Analyst Skender Minxhozi expressed his skepticism on the pre-election situation and for the Election Day.
Speaking on Top Channel’s program “Top Story”, Minxhozi declared that
the current tense situation has its roots at June 28th elections.
“This country has a long history of election contestation, and the recent one is the harshest of the last 20 years, with hunger strikes, boycotts and ballot boxes being opened by local prosecutions, which, in some cases, have brought horrible consequences. If this wasn’t enough, the report of previous elections has not been analyzed for improving the next elections”, Minxhozi declared.
According to him, both parties are to blame for this situation, but mostly the majority, that did not fulfill the opposition’s demands of transparency for the next elections.
“Both parties are to blame for this. When the oppositions requested the verification of the voters’ list, the majority decided in an arbitrary way to not give them this basic right. Afterwards, on the dialogue table called by Mr. Patozi in March, this request was rejected again”, Minxhozi declared, warning a deterioration of the post-election situation.
“We face a big chaos, and the premises are that we will have contestations for these elections too”, added the director of the magazine “Mapo”.
