Ministry: Patients didn’t die from fever

The Health Ministry declared that the person who died in Librazhd had not been infected by flu or hemorrhagic fever.

After collecting samples in the hospital and the patients’ families, the experts from Tirana ruled these two diseases out.

“All these hypotheses are unfounded and unprofessional. We are not dealing with hemorrhagic fevers or flu. None of our tests resulted with flu”, declared Pellumb Pipero, director of the Policies at the Health Ministry.

Pipero declared that the girl who lost her life might have had bacterial infection in the core of the brain, but further investigations are undergoing for determining a more founded cause. According to him, the cases are not related, and neither the patients, who belong to the same family.

“There has been an unexplained death. The clinical data and the investigation of the clinical chart show that there might be a brain core infection. As for the two other cases, we have a tonsils infection and a gastric infection after the New Year’s celebrations. The other cases are not related with the death case”, Pipero declared.

The group of experts from the Public Health Institute will analyze the samples taken at the virology lab.
