After a Parliament debate, the government returned to the report of the
US Institution Global Financial Integrity over the illegal money flux.
The Minister of Finances, Ridvan Bode, clarified that according to this report, Albania is the country with the lowest negative points in the region.
“This is a chart of the countries, with Serbia on the 16th place, with 5 billion USD, Bulgaria and Montenegro with 1.5 billion, Montenegro with 1 billion and Albania comes after Macedonia”, Bode declared.
Bode added that different from the opposition’s claims, the report not only does not stain the image of this government, but it actually helps it.
According to the Minister, evasion and traffics flourished in the time when the country was government by the Socialists, when the World Bank calculated the evasion with 1.4 billion USD each year.
The report of the Global Financial Integrity calculated the data since 2001. From 2001 to 2004, the money that was travelling outside Albania was zero.
From 2005 to 2010, 1.3 billion ALL have been transferred, the main source of which, according to the report, are tax evasion and illegal traffics.
