The Health Ministry has established two working groups that are
investigating the death of a 7-year-old girl in the Durres hospital.

Minister Vangjel Tavo suspended two lab chiefs of the Durres Hospital and those of the Paediatric Hospital.

“I have ordered the establishment of a group of specialists to investigate the case. The responsible doctors are suspended and the final decision will be taken after the investigation”, Tavo added.

Pipero: Doctor’s mistake

The Director of Health Policies at the Health Ministry, Pellumb Pipero, blames the doctor that had the first contact with the 7-year-old patient, Arsela Vladi. The girl died because he injected glucoses to her while she was suffering of diabetes.

The Directory has also suspended Irena Lila and Etleva Myshketa, and the paediatric doctor Rasim Lusha.

“The responsibility is individual and institutional. I’m sorry to say that the doctor who had the first contact with the girl has not been responsible. All measures will be taken”, Pipero declared.

Relatives in Xhafzotaj gathered to give the final farewell to Arsela vladi, a 7-year-old violin student at the “Jan Kukuzeli” Music School in Durres. Arsela travelled each day to Durres together with her sistem, to follow her musical passion.

The parents of the girl are unable to speak. They have two other children, a 9-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son. Police has not opened a criminal case, since the family has not filed a suit.
