The Minister of Transportation, Sokol Dervishaj, is convinced that the
construction of the main part of the Arber Road will start by Spring
2017.
He didn’t exclude participation of Albanian companies in this procedure, which is in the most costly part of the road.
“It will be a public-private-partnership because the project has a high cost and the budget has it difficult to cover it. We may cooperate with investors and local companies. I think this will get resolved very soon. I believe that next week we will start working for the remaining segment of the Arber Road”, said the Minister of Transportation, Sokol Dervishaj.
The Arber road is 72 km long, from Tirana to Peshkopia. The remaining part requires 230 million EUR. There have been several bids from a Chinese company, but the government has not accepted them.
