Minister of Interior: “We destroyed 99% of the cannabis planted area”

Tahiri said that the police has destroyed 99% of the panted areas that have been identified, and that the battje is still undergoing.

“I understand the push to fight poverty in the remote areas of Albania. I will not call them traffickers, as the opposition does, but this is not the right way to fight poverty”, Tahiri declared.

The Interior Minister admitted that Albania has a problem with cannabis, but the government is doing everything possible to resolve it once and for all.

“I am the first to admit that we have a problem with the cultivation of cannabis, although much smaller than with the past government, as confirmed by the international partners”, he added.
