The Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, said in a press release that the
arguments given by judge Arian Aliaj for leaving two leading police
officers in house arrest are unacceptable even for a law student.

According to Tahiri, the verdict says that “officer Duka is being held in house arrest because he has drafted the training program and presented it to his superior. While, for Xhelilaj, it says that he has started working with the Italian authorities on his own will, without the order of anybody”.

The Minister added that both officers have worked with dedication to build a key relation between the law-enforcing agencies in the fight against criminality and terrorism.

Minister Tahiri says that judges have not been so dedicated to their political leaders even during communism, and that judge Arian Aliaj has released killers and rapists in the past. This, according to the Minister of Interior, shows that the fever that are experiencing judges like him before the Justice Reform.

“These judges do not have the necessary education and they are held by the political system that has defended them when they released killers and rapists. This is one more reason to continue with the justice reform, because such judges are not decent enough to give justice for the Albanian citizens. We will go to the end of this case, against anyone who has become rich through this justice system, under political protection”, Minister Tahiri declared.
