During his visit in Greece, the Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, met
with his counterpart Nikolaos Toskas. The two Ministers emphasized the
cooperation between the two countries to respond to the refugee crisis.

“We know that no country can confront this crisis on its own. We know that we need a joint plan in a mutual European agenda. Albania is on the path of European integration, but these crises help us understand that cooperation is necessary to resolve joint challenges. We have understood from these crises that cooperation is necessary to resolve joint challenges.
We have understood that we need cooperation for the European Union. For Albania it is even more necessary for a stronger cooperation with our partners and neighbors, Italy and Greece. I hope that we will be able to work through joint mechanisms so that our cooperation can be more effective and with concrete results”, Tahiri said.

Tahiri underlined that both countries must make sure that terror elements will not threaten our societies.

“We must make sure that through the refugee crisis, the terror elements will not threaten our societies. By building safety here, we build safety in a wider scale”, Tahiri declared.
