“This is a political declaration, and I think it is out of place to
comment a declaration of any MP, not only in Germany but also in other
EU countries. We’re used with this rhetoric, because has this rhetoric
too”, said the Minister of Integration after the declaration of he the
German MP, Krichbaum.
She is however optimistic that Albania will receive a positive report from the European Council his December, a screening process similar to that of Serbia.

“We have asked the screening for a long time now because it is a technical process that will erve us to make ready for the negotiation process when the member countries will vote in favor of the negotiations. We have asked and keep asking this. It will certainly be up to the member countries to decide how they will proceed with Albania”, Gjosha said.
Although the European Commission has decided to not publish reports for 2017, the Minister of Integration reminds that it leaves the possibility to have an interim report for Albania in 2017.
Gjosha will be this Monday part of the Albanian delegation that will travel to Germany to meet with the German Chancellor, and she expects her to understand that Albania has made progress towards the integration process by fulfilling several basic conditions.
