Minister of Finances: “2016, first year with surplus”

The Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, said that 2016 was the first of the last 25 years that had budget surplus.

The Minister said that 2016 was also a very successful year as regards fight against informality.

“Investments continue to be the main generator of our economic growth”, the Minister declared from Parliament.

Ahmetaj said that the public debt was also important for 2016.

“2016 was corrected all problems we had inherited with the debt. It was the first year in which we left the crisis behind and moved away from the Greek scenario”, Ahmetaj declared.
