Minister of Energy reports for first semester: “50% more collected payments”

“For 2015 we have collected 50% more payments than in 2014, 82% more than in 2013. Losses have fallen to a historic level of 28.6%, while in 2013 it was 40%”, Gjiknuri declared.

The Minister said that the sector is leaving the crisis behind thanks to the operation held by the government in the last year against abuses with electricity, and also thanks to the management within the sector, saving 35.5 million EUR from the management and rains, and 44.8 million from the government operations.

The Minister says so far they have paid 90% of the debts accumulated with private hydropower plants, or 40 million USD in total. The investment plan has been followed and by the end of the year is expected to mount up to 5 billion ALL.
