Top Channel reported this Wednesday that there is a proposition for giving the food safety inspection process to a private company.
The proposition has come from a group of local industrialists, who have prepared a full report for the food safety.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Niko Peleshi, contacted Top Channel to say that there is no such report at his Ministry.
Minister Peleshi told Top Channel that the report has arrived at the National Food Authority and that he hasn’t read the report but only referred to it once for the aflatoxin case.
Peleshi told Top Channel that the government and ministries have not been asked to give an opinion about a PPP in the food safety process.
