The Kosovo Minister of Security Forces said that the resignations of the Serbian members from this force are part of an effort to damage the image of the KSF.
Rustem Berisha gave these comments after a group of Serbian members have made an official resignation request, due to pressure from Belgrade. Berisha explained that the requests will be reviewed within the legal deadlines.
“We feel sorry for our members who were not allowed to decide freely for their future and their career”, the Minister said, underlining that they were well integrated into this structure.
According to Berisha, they were in full duty, and the threats made to them are a violation of human rights.
Three days ago this matter forced PM Haradinaj to declare in a press release that he had summoned the Kosovo Security Council to discuss the resignations forced by pressure from Belgrade.
Haradinaj reminded that today there are Kosovo and Serbian citizens who are part of the Kosovo institutions, and who are treated as equals, although once this was not allowed by Serbia. “The current actions of Belgrade are absurd”, he said.
