Minister Bushati in Brussels: “Accession negotiations within 2018”

During his visit in Brussels, the Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, met with the First Vice President of the European Commission, Frans Timmermans, and the Commissioner for Migration, Interior Affairs and Citizens’ Programme, Dimitris Avramolupos.

In his meeting with Timmermans, Bushati underlined that the transforming judiciary reform is unique, and it is being brought to life through a close cooperation with its partners.

The Vice President encouraged the implementation of the judiciary reform, as key for strengthening the rule of law and for progressing with the integration process.

During his meeting with Avramopoulos, Bushati emphasized that the results achieved in the fight against organized crime, especially against the cannabis traffic, are fruit of the determination to strengthen the rule of law. He reiterated that the political will and commitment of the government to reinforce the rule of law are steadfast and irreversible.

Commissioner Avramopoulos appreciated the measures taken in the fight against corruption and organized crime, especially the positive results achieved against cannabis cultivation.
