The Ministry of Economy declared that they will revoke 43 licenses for
mining companies that have failed to fulfill their contractual
obligations.
The National Agency of Natural Resources has identified violations after conducting an inspection.
According to the ministry, many of these mining companies have not worked and are not working, since they haven’t presented even the yearly activity plan for 2011 and for the years to come.
For this reason, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy has started the procedures for revoking the licenses of these companies, notifying them officially for violating the mining law.
The Minister will take the final decision in a period not more than 30 days after this announcement.
The situation in the mines of our country is in the worst conditions. The miners are risking their life in the underground galleries for a minimal salary.
Meanwhile, work at the Bulqize mine has not started yet, although the miners and the ACR Company have finally found an agreement after three months of strikes.
