Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
The government has decided that the minimal wage in Albania should not
be less than 21.000 ALL. In the meeting of the National Council of
Labor, the Minister of Labor, Spiro Ksera, admitted that Albania is a
country that applies the minimal wage in the region, while Croatia has
the highets.
Ksera promised that the minimal wage will increase each year with 5%, and other initiatives will be undertaken for reducing the extreme poverty level in our country.
This declaration of Minister Ksera brought the reaction of the head of the Confederations of Independent Syndicates, Kole Nikolla.
Business representatives asked for the minimal wage decision to enter in act on January 2013, a request that was accepted in unanimity. The changes for the state administration employees will start on July 1st 2012.
