Miners: Agreement not respected

08/10/2011 00:00

Turning to work after having only some of their demands fulfilled has been disappointing for the Bulqize miners.

The agreement that ended the three-month-long strike has not been respected by the ACR. The miners have neither been paid for the time they were in strike, nor for the 22 days of vacations. The same thing happened with the 13th salary.

These payments should be part of the agreement signed between the miners and the ACR, but although more than one week has passed, none of these demands have been fulfilled. The first promise was that their money would be transferred on October 4th, but nothing has happened. Taf Koleci, the syndication leader who signed the agreement, declared that the payments would be transferred within a few hours, but this hasn’t happened either.

The miners expressed their disappointment that the ACR Company is not respecting the agreement, and it seems that the situation is being tense again. If the company will not take this problem in consideration, it’s possible that there could be another strike.
