The US Ambassador to Tirana, Donald Lu, said that Albania has the highest budget for the Armed Forces since their NATO accession.
Lu released this declaration during a ceremony held for the US donation of 12 military vehicles to the Albanian infantry.
“Since 2009, when Albania joined NATO, this is the biggest budget increase ever, up to a total of 8 billion ALL. This is a priority of the government, the opposition, the President and the Parliament. Well done!”, Lu declared.
The Albanian Defense Minister, Olta Xhacka, expressed Albania’s readiness to increase its military capacities, especially in sectors which cooperate with NATO.
