Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Although the three Albanian experts had 1 entire month in their disposal
for concluding the inspection of the Meta-Prifti scandal video files,
it was a “mission impossible” for them to present the conclusion at the
Penal College this Monday.
Now a tradition for the Albanian Judicial System, the session was adjourned to next Monday. Present in court was only the expert Artur Rrahmani, while his colleagues were absent; although the expert said that they would come a bit late.
The Relator of the Judge Panel, Ardian Dvorani, mentioned the letter sent by the experts, in which they asked help for the Raid Blocker software and the letter exchange with the prosecution, which insisted that the experts should use only licensed software.
Expert Rrahmani then asked to receive the video file broadcasted on Top Channel’s program “Fiks Fare”, in order to fulfill one of the 18 Supreme Court’s requests, for assessing if the video is authentic or not. The Supreme Court asked the expert if he had asked that software earlier, but he said that he couldn’t set the Supreme Court in motion during the weekend.
Expert Rrahmani declared that they have replied for the other questions, but the expertise cannot be considered complete after they haveleft one question unanswered. He added that they needed four hours to end this task, but since their colleagues were absent, the Prosecutor Bujar Sheshi ironically interfered by saying that the experts needed four hours only to wake up. On the other hand, the defensive lawyer of the former Deputy Prime Minister Ilir Meta asked for a preliminary result of the procedure, so that the parties could be prepared for the next time. This request was not taken in consideration, together with the other request of the lawyer Gezim Veleshnja, who asked to interrogate the witnesses until the expertise was over.
