Meta thanked the Court

The conference room was full of Assembly members, with the Ministers Vasili and Haxhinasto and dozens of you people from the Youth Movement for Integration, who exploded in chants when the Court announced the decision. 30 minutes later, Ilira Meta held a press release.

“I confirmed one year ago my full trust on justice, law and truth. Today, the Supreme Court, through the judicial panel and in an unanimous way made it clear and confirmed in front of all Albanians and the world not only the innocence of Ilir Meta, but it confirmed that justice will always win over injustice in this country. This was a sacrifice that was worthy, despite the endless postponements of the process. Because this was a sacrifice of Ilir Meta but also of all of you, for a new standard and morale in the Albanian politics”, Meta declared.

“Finally fell the accusations that the organized crime made against Ilir Meta through these montages, with which they wanted to keep hostage not only Ilir Meta, but also many other institutions. I want to thank the members of the Court who have been under extraordinary pressure, slander and accusations for deforming the will of law and justice”, the former Deputy Prime Minister continued.

During his speech, the SMI leader repeated several times “organized crime”, but he never mentioned any name or to whom he was referring, while he underlined that with this decision triumphed the justice above injustice.
