Meta: SMI supports Zaganjori for president

One day before the third round of the Presidential election, the
Socialist Movement for Integration leader, Ilir Meta, declared for Top
Channel that his party will support the candidacy of Xhezair Zaganjori,
as a decent name and because it has been voted twice by the Albanian
Parliament.
According to Meta, there is no reason to change their stance in the third and fourth round, since his candidacy enjoys a wide consensus.
Top Channel: Will the majority officially present Zaganjori’s candidacy this Friday?
Ilir Meta: There’s no reason to not support this candidacy, because even if it will not receive political consensus, which naturally is very important, I think that this candidacy has a very wide consensus in the public opinion. The political consensus is very important, but the process has a wide basis and the product is what is important after all. I believe that the product has an excellent quality.
Top Channel: What chances does Albania have for the EU candidate status this fall?
Ilir Meta: I don’t think that this is such a capital matter, in the sense of his name or the entire process. Naturally, it has a relative effect in the entire procedure of the reforms, for which we need a consensual spirit.
