The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, declared that the opposition
tried to damage the June 21st elections, something that Meta said his
party had already warned the public and the international community.
Meta organized the first meeting of his party leadership for this Friday, and said that the June 21st elections were a success for the SMI.
“I want to thank the 260.000 citizens who voted us. The results showed progress in a national scale. SMI is the first force in 11 municipalities and the second in 21 others”, Meta declared.
He added that the SMI will continue to pursue the case of the Vore Municipality at the Electoral College. SMI claims 600 outsiders have been registered as residents of Vore just before the elections. The DP won this municipality against SMI with a razor-sharp difference.
