After the passing in principle of the justice reform, the USA will intensify its assistance for a successful implementation, according to the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, during a meeting with the Assistant Secretary for International Affairs and Chief Diplomatic Officer for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Alan Bersin.
Meta spoke about the increased cooperation between the two countries for a better control of the borders.
“Keeping
in consideration the impact of the last migration crisis in Europe, and
the wide experience of the USA with security, our countries should
increase cooperation for a better control of the borders and for
reinforcing the strategi infrastructure in ports and airports”, Meta
said.
Bersin also was in favor of more cooperation between the National Security institutions of Albania and the USA.
During
his visit in the USA, the Parliament Speaker met with the US Deputy
Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Hoyt Brian Yee,
and high officials at the National Security Council.
