The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, attended an official visit
in Portugal, where he was received by the Speaker of the Portuguese
Parliament, Assunção Esteves.
During this meeting, both speakers valued the good political relations. Meta expressed the gratitude of Albania for the constant support of Portugal in the NATO membership, the visa liberalization and for the candidate status.
The President of the Assembly of Portugal, Assunção Esteves, guaranteed Meta for the Portuguese support in the European integration and for the maximal will to reinforce the mutual cooperation, and also in the regional platforms, such as the Mediterranean Union.
Meta also valued the support of Portugal to Kosovo, underlining that this is a precious contribution for the progress and peace in Balkan.
The Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, invited Mrs. Esteves for a visit in Albania, adding that he is convinced that both parliaments have entered a new cooperation phase.
